The Orthopaedic Surgeons and Researchers Dr. Martin Wiewiorski, MD, (Orthopaedic Department, Kantonsspital Winterthur, Switzerland), Prof. Dr. Alexej Barg, MD, (Orthopadic Department, University of Utah, Salt Lake City, USA) and Prof. Dr. Dr. Victor Valderrabano, MD PhD, (SWISS ORTHO CENTER Basel / University of Basel, Switzerland) received at the Annual Conference of the British Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (BOFAS; www.bofas.org.uk) in Edinburg 7-9 November 2018 the renowned Klenerman Prize 2018 for their cartilage research on "Autologous matrix induced chondrogenesis (AMIC) aided reconstruction of osteochondral lesions of the talus - Five year follow-up" presented at the conference by Dr. M. Wiewiorski.

Circa 230 internationale Teilnehmer von 16 Ländern kamen zum Exactech Medical Education EME 2018 Masters Course in Knie-Totalprothetik in Paris, Frankreich, vom 10-11.05.2018 zusammen, um über die beste Behandlung für Knie-Arthrose mittels Knie-Totalprothese auszutauschen. Professor Valderrabano, Leiter von SWISS ORTHO CENTER, war eingeladener Lehrkörper-Professor an diesen hochstehenden Kurstagen. Professor Valderrabano sprach über die Behandlung von jungen Patienten mit Knie-Totalprothesen und über den Kniescheibe-Ersatz bei Knie-Totalprothesen.

Painful Knee osteoarthritis is an increasing issue worldwide. Around 230 international participants from 16 countries came together to the Exactech Medical Education EME 2018 Masters Course in Knee Arthroplasty in Paris, France, May 10-11 2018, to exchange for the best surgical treatment for knee osteoarthritis by Total Knee Arthroplasty. Professor Valderrabano, Chairman of SWISS ORTHO CENTER, was invited as Faculty Professor during these high-level educational course days. Professor talked about the Treatment of Young Patients with Total Knee Arthroplasty and the Patellar Resurfacing in Total Knee Arthroplasty.

With around 1500 visitors and a large industry, the conference was a highlight in Orthopaedic Surgery. It was an honor to Prof. Valderrabano to be part of all the excellent teachers in such a large and high-quality conference. Beside the great Orthopaedic skills and knowledge, friendship, cordiality, and kindness are true characteristics of the Mexican Orthopaedic Surgeons.  Warm thanks goes to El Colegio de Ortopedia y Traumatologia A.C..
